About
Twenty years of listening carefully
Lamka Labs is a small transcription practice with more than fifty years of combined experience across the team. Most of what we handle is the audio other services would rather not take.
We take fewer files than we could
Transcription businesses usually scale by adding volume and thinning review. We have chosen the opposite constraint: we cap what we accept so that a senior reviewer can put real attention on every file. It means we occasionally turn work away, and we would rather do that than return a transcript we would not sign our own name to.
It also means the person who handles your matter tends to keep handling it. You are not routed to whoever is free, and you are not writing to a support queue.
What experience actually changes
Knowing when a word is wrong
The audio is clear enough to type, but only experience tells you that what sounded like a name was a drug, a statute, or a policy number.
Knowing the format
Certificate pages, exhibit conventions, minute formats and coding-software output are learned once and then done correctly every time.
Knowing when to flag
The difference between a usable transcript and a liability is whether the uncertain passage was marked or quietly guessed at.
Knowing what a deadline costs
We commit to turnaround we can actually hold, and we say so in advance when a deadline is tight.
